Energy savings – for your budget and the environment

Today, the IT industry leaves as large a climate footprint as the entire aviation industry. A substantial part of our customers’ decision to invest in a new data center is driven by the potential for energy savings. As environmental awareness increases among customers and society in general, the demand for cost efficiency also grows. And there is a lot at stake – a company’s electricity bill is often the second largest cost in a typical IT budget.

In order to take the right actions and make the most appropriate investments when striving to save energy, it is crucial to have knowledge of the basic infrastructure of the data center. One fundamental way of cutting operational costs and reducing a company’s electricity bill is through the smart use of energy in everything from location to optimization to achieve a higher level of efficiency.

As part of Coromatic Group’s aspiration to encourage developments in Green IT, the “Green Data Center of the Year” award was established in 2008 by Coromatic AB in Sweden. The winner of 2010 was H&M in Stockholm.
